Dear 1B Families,
This week we focused on retelling the story by using our story element words of characters, setting, problem, and solution.  Our letters and sounds we focused on this week were: y and o.  In our vocabulary journals, we focused on the words- author and illustrator.  In math, we started subtraction through 5; I am impressed with how quickly the first graders are able to transfer their addition skills and strategies to subtraction.  Math Night was a great success, thank you to everyone who came.  In science we are studying plants.
