11-1 News

November 1, 2019

Dear 1B Families,
This week we focused on adjectives/ descriptive words; the students wrote their own Halloween adjective book.  We read books looking for descriptive words.  The letter and sound we focused on this week was e.  We are also learning to identify fiction and nonfiction genres.  In math, we are working on graphing- bar graphs, pictographs, and tally charts.  The students are understanding graphing and I am impressed with their skills.  In science we are continuing to study plants in more depth, this week we talked about broad leaves and needles.
Thank you to everyone who helped at our class Halloween party and everyone who brought in items.  The First Graders had lots of fun.  All Saints Day today was a huge success, the students did a great job at mass and their saint outfits were wonderful.
